As confirmed in “Fast & Furious 9”: Great return in “Mission: Impossible 7 & 8”

2 min read

He played a key role in the first “Mission: Impossible” film, but never returned in the sequels – until now! Because now Henry Czerny will not only be in “Mission: Impossible 7”, but also in “Mission: Impossible 8”!

Cult is cool! After original actors had already been brought back in front of the camera for ” Halloween ” or ” Terminator: Dark Fate “, a comeback bomb was finally burst in the trailer of “Fast & Furious 9” . Now there will be a big reunion in the next two missions of super agent Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cruise ) …

Because as director  Christopher McQuarrie (“Mission: Impossible – Fallout”) confirmed via Twitter, Henry Czerny will return in ” Mission: Impossible 7 ” and ” Mission: Impossible 8 “!

Czerny appeared in Brian De Palma’s ” Mission: Impossible ” as IMF director Eugene Kittridge , who hunted down Ethan Hunt, who was suspected of being a mole. So he acts as an antagonist in the film for a long time before finally teaming up with Hunt to uncover the real mole ( Jim Phelps, played by  Jon Voight ).

25 years after his “M: I” debut, we will see the Canadian again at Tom Cruise’s side in the summer of 2021 – and hopefully we will also receive answers to the question of what he has been doing over the years.

While a cult agent franchise will soon be expanded with ” No time to die “, Ethan Hunt’s return is still a bit of a wait.

Mission: Impossible 7 will be released on July 22, 2021.

Action fans will have to wait a little longer for Ethan Hunt to swing and shoot again through the cinemas, but at least they can be happy that he will stay with them for at least another film. Part 8 also has a fixed start date.

“Mission: Impossible 8” will be released on August 4, 2022.

In addition to Czerny and Cruise,  Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust and  Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn. New on board include Marvel stars  Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men” saga),  Pom Klementieff (“Guardians Of The Galaxy 2”) and  Hayley Atwell (“Agent Carter”), whose figure according to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman sounds particularly exciting.

As a result, she slips into the role of a legendary former IMF agent who is said to be about 20 years older than the Ethan Hunt played by Tom Cruise – although Atwell is actually 20 years younger than Cruise. But why not! In “The Return Of The First Avenger” she was seen as an old woman before …

The complete “Mission: Impossible” saga is not only available on  DVD, Blu-ray and 4K-Blu-ray *, but also conveniently as a streaming subscription.
